The 1st Battalion, 227th Aviation Regiment is an attack helicopter battalion of the Combat Aviation Brigade, 1st Cavalry Division. The battalion is an AH-64 Apache battalion based at Fort Hood, Texas.
In vTF-77, They are a wing that flies the AH-64D and is currently commanded by Cpt "Whiskey" French (CDR) and TBD (XO)

Minimum of 50% attendance

Opportunity to dual-qualify on other helicopters in the Squadron.

227th members may also dual-qualify on any other airframe.

RESERVE SLOTS - OPEN

Members that cannot make 50% of our Tuesday/Thursday training nights will be transferred to RESERVE status. Reserve pilots are always welcome to continue flying with the Squadron and the wing ​

Membership Requirements

Minimum age of 18

Regular attendance to Tuesday and Thursday training nights at 2000 PST

Life comes first. If you are unable to attend for any reason, all we ask is you notify your squadron leadership via the Leave of Absence channel. You will never be penalized for missing a night if you put in a LoA​

Willingness to self-study, read provided materials, and schedule times with Instructor Pilots

Fortitude to sit through dad jokes, adult humor, and assorted shenanigans

Hands-on Throttle and Stick (HOTAS)

Head-tracking solution OR a Virtual Reality headset

Ability to use Discord and SRS (or at least willingness to learn)

Ownership of the Syria and Persian Gulf maps and the AH64-D Module.
