 USN Strike Fighter Squadron, VF-143,  "Pukin Dogs" is a United States Navy fighter squadron established in 1950 and is based at Naval Air Station Oceana, Virginia. 

 

In TF-77, they fly the F-14B Tomcat, providing for fleet defense and offensive multirole tasks.

VF-143 is currently commanded by CDR "Zorro" LeGrand (CO) and LCDR "Rice" Huang (XO).

Available Slots and Requirements

Slots Available

  • 6 Full-Time F-14B Pilots​​

  • 8 Full-Time F-14B RIOs​​

    • HOTAS  is NOT required for RIOs

    • A minimum of 50% attendance is requested, pending real-life circumstances 

  • RESERVE SLOTS - CLOSED​

    • Slots for reserve members are open internally based on the completion of training and dependent on agreed terms of participation.​

Membership Requirements

  • Minimum age of 18 

  • Regular attendance to at least one night a week

    • Training nights Tues / Thurs at 2000 PST

      • Life comes first. Suppose you are unable to attend for any reason. In that case, all we ask is that you notify your squadron leadership via the Leave of Absence channel. You will never be penalized for missing a night if you put in an LoA​

  • Willingness to self-study, read provided materials, and schedule times with Instructor Pilots.  

  • Fortitude to sit through dad jokes, adult humor, and assorted shenanigans

  • Hands-on Throttle and Stick (HOTAS)​

    • Requirement waived for RIOs​

  • Head-tracking solution OR a Virtual Reality headset

    • Requirement waived for RIOs​

  • Ability to use Discord and SRS (or at least willingness to learn)

  • Ownership of the Syria, Persian Gulf, Supercarrier and F-14 modules

    • NTTR Map is also recommended
